Update: Just found out that one of my friends was on vacation at some resort in India. Don't know where she was but everyone's been trying to see if she's ok. Crazy, crazy stuff...
Been checking out the coverage of the tsunami disaster in indonesia this morning. Its so crazy. Too many dead and still more missing. Its weird to see places like Phuket and Phiphi island (places I've been to) and hear that its either gone or totally destroyed.
Reminds me of my childhood.
Being in the middle of the Pacific Ocean we were prone to tsunamis from every direction so every earthquake around the pacific rim was met with very watchful eyes. There was one time when my dad picked up my brother and I from school (they had sent us home early) and we parked up on a hill overlooking the water to watch the waves come in. The weather service and radio stations even had a countdown going. But in the end the waves fizzled out and nothing ever materialzed.
Gloomy weather here today but I'm taking off the rest of the day to meet up with la familia at the Happiest (and wettest today)Place on Earth to suck down $10 frozen Mickey pops. woohoo!
